THE ALBION KB BRIDLE IS A ONE-OF-A-KIND PATENTED DESIGN
ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS!
Designed in partnership with US Olympic Dressage Team Coach, German Team Gold Medalist, and all-around extraordinary horseman Klaus Balkenhol, the Albion KB Bridle has been created with the comfort and fit of the horse as a priority. Many years of observing FEI horses with fleeceo or some sort of padding under the crown have brought to the forefront the need for a solution to poll pressure. A horse that is obviously sore through the poll can never offer an honest connection with relaxation. A traditional bridle’s headstall has the bit carriers and throatlatch split from the same piece of leather. The caveson and bradoon carrier slide through the browband and under the crownpiece of the headstall, making the poll vulnerable to pressure points created from the weight and leveraging of the bit, and Klaus’ greatest contention, that poll pressure is created as the caveson is tightened around the nose. (Try it! Keep checking as you tighten your caveson and feel the squeeze under the crownpiece.) The unique design of the KB Bridle has been developed to alleviate this pressure and distribute it over a larger area. This is accomplished by mounting the caveson and throatlatch to a padded crownpiece which protects the sensitive poll area. To eliminate pressure points caused by the weight and leverage of the bit, the bit carriers are now separate from the headstall and slide freely over the top of the padded crownpiece. The caveson features buckles placed on both cheeks for precision fitting. The entire KB line is designed with a wide caveson for pressure distribution and a narrow browband in the traditional German style. The elegance of the Super Double is unsurpassed; it is raised and stitched with hook-stud ends, a nubuck-lined snaffle rein and plain curb rein. The Snaffle bridle comes standard with continental reins—leather with leather stops and hook-stud ends.
